Policies and Procedures
Students are not screened before being admitted to the studio and admittance is not discriminatory. Students will not be granted nor denied admittance in regard to race, religion, color, creed, national or ethnic origin.
A student may withdraw from lessons at the end of any quarter, which may or may not fall at the end of the month. A two week written notice is required if a student plans to withdraw from lessons before the end of the school year, including, but not limited to withdrawal at the end of a quarter. Failure to give two weeks written notice will result in a bill for a regular partial quarter payment, and student must re-apply should they desire to begin lessons again at any point in time. Any monies paid toward lessons will not be refunded.
Payments and fees
Payment due dates
Lesson payments are always due on the 20th of each month. Lesson payments are broken into three monthly payments per quarter and are due as follows: Fall quarter: August 20, September 20, October 20; Winter quarter: November 20, December 20, January 20; Spring quarter: February 20, March 20, April 20; Summer quarter: May 20, June 20, July 20.
Group class payments will be due on noted dates based on the individual class. Some group classes are billed all at once (e.g. with summer tuition) and some are billed monthly throughout the year (e.g. dance classes). Please note what your class’s individual billing cycle is. Note if your class bills monthly, group class tuition will not be prorated nor changed based on how many weeks of class there are in that given month.
Late / returned check fees
Late fees will be assessed on the 26st of any given month a payment has not been made. The late fee is $25.
Returned check fees will be assessed for NSF or any other non-payment of a check. The returned check fee is $35 plus any additional charges incurred from my bank.
Lesson and group fees may be made with credit or debit card or by ACH debit through your bank account. If you prefer to pay by cash or check, please speak with our Executive Director, Adriane Galea.
Each family will be assessed a $20 registration fee. This fee will be assessed with September’s tuition (due August 20) or upon enrolling. Regardless of when students come into the studio, they will be billed a new registration fee with September; the only exception is for students who join in the summer, whose registration will be valid through the next school year.
Recital and competition fees
The recital fee for private music students ranges between $20-30. If a group class is scheduled to perform at a recital, their recital fee is built into the class fee (and is non-refundable should that student be unavailable to perform). Competition fees are on an individual basis. For dance students, there is no recital fee; instead, anyone attending will purchase a ticket.
Please note that if you decide to terminate lessons, your last lesson may not be the last week of the month, but rather the last day of the quarter (e.g. if your last payment will be made on October 20, your last lesson will be November 18). If you choose to end lessons early, you are responsible for paying for the remainder of your term contract, and no monies will be refunded.
Any monies paid are non-refundable.
