College Audition Coaching

Getting into college for theatre and musical theatre is extremely competitive. We're here to help with every step of your audition, from material selection and preparation, advising on which schools to apply to, and more.

Mentoring for your college auditions | Arts Detroit audition coaching

Who we are

It is our mission to provide a mentoring relationship to students who wish to pursue the arts, specifically theatre or musical theatre, at the collegiate level.

The unfortunate reality of getting into college for theatre is that it’s difficult, and receiving guidance from the right person could make a big difference in your acceptances. We’d love to help you!

How we work

It’s pretty simple.

Want to have a conversation about anything pertaining to your application process? Need help? Email us. We believe college coaching should be affordable, and because we’re a non-profit, we’re committed to not breaking the bank for you. Not everyone has the ability to pay a coach, but we believe everyone deserves to have access to continue their education.

Lets work together!

If you have a dream, we can help make it a reality.

Upcoming Information Meetings

We periodically hold informational sessions on what it takes for you to get into college for theatre or musical theatre. We cover the pre-audition process, how to choose audition material, and what to expect from your auditions. These sessions often have a minimal per cost per family fee just to ensure a proper headcount.

Our upcoming meetings:

Tuesday, March 20 at 7:30pm at Arts Detroit, 18614 Ecorse, Allen Park

Tuesday, May 1 at 7:30pm at Plymouth PARC, 650 Church, Plymouth

Acting the Song Workshop

We were so lucky to have the opportunity to work with Mark Madama from the University of Michigan’s amazing Musical Theatre program on-campus for an Acting the Song workshop. Mr. Madama has an incredible ability to get to the heart of a song and help students communicate the action. We’ll come back anytime you’ll have us!

Texas State Audition Workshop

Thank you so much to Kaitlin Hopkins and Jim Price from the Texas State University Musical Theatre Department! Kaitlin and Jim came to do a workshop with our students to help them prepare their college audition material. It was an extremely beneficial and fun day!

If Texas State isn’t on your list of schools to audition, they should be! Check them out!

Every student has gotten in.

We are proud to say we have a 100% success rate! All of the students we’ve worked with have gotten into a program for which they’ve auditioned.
