Summer camps at Arts Detroit
We’re excited to offer a number of summer camp! Check below to see what we’re offering!
Camps all take place at our location in Allen Park
Ages 4-7 • Monday – Thursdays from 9am-noon • $75 each
These camps focus on a basic structure with education and fun in mind: on Monday, we start with basic foundations of musical theatre. Students will create characters through improv, creative movement, and acting games. As the week progresses, students will explore the theme of the week with imagination and guided exercises to begin building a short 15-20 show which will be showcased to parents before they are dismissed on the last day of class. The goals of camp are to make new friends, build confidence, explore sounds and movements, encourage creativity, and have fun!

August 6-9 – Beauty and the Beast
August 13-17 – Cinderella
August 20-20 – Enchanted Kingdom (This camp also runs in Plymouth)
Ages 8 & Up • Monday – Thursdays from 12:30-4:30pm • $100 each
Camps for older students and teens will explore more in-depth acting techniques over short amounts of time. Students will gain confidence in their performance abilities and learn how to make choices
Commercial Acting: understand the basics of what it takes to shoot a commercial for TV! Using on-camera exercises, you’ll work within frames, practicing cheating/framing techniques, vocal performance and sightlines while developing an awareness of your relationship with the camera.
Ages 8-12: July 30-Aug 2 • Ages 13 & Up: August 6-9
Scenes & Songs: learn how to fully bring a song, as well as the preceding scene, to life by understanding the text and how to use the music to inform your character choices, so you can let your voices shine while keeping storytelling your point of focus.
Ages 8-12: Aug 13-17 • Ages 13 & Up: Aug 20-24
Acting Essentials: using acting exercises and games, text and character work, and tools for how to understand and play objectives, students will dive into essential skills every actor needs to tell a story confidently and honestly through monologues, partner work, and full scenes.
Ages 13 & Up: July 9-12
Auditioning: beef up your auditioning skills and land the callback! In this class, we’ll start with tips and tricks for how to approach your audition, how to choose good material, and what the process looks like from beginning to end. Students should come with any prepared material they use currently.
